The Royal Monastery of Santa Clara is considered the oldest monastery in the city of Jaén, Spain, and houses a community of cloistered Clarisas.

Its church has a single rectangular nave and is covered by a beautiful Mudejar coffered ceiling. It has two choirs, the high choir and the low choir, covered by a beautiful coffered ceiling that is the oldest of the church.

It houses the image of the Holy Christ of Mercy, an anonymous sculpture of the sixteenth century, which is also known by the name of «Christ of Bamboo» and which is the holder of the Confraternity of Students that processs on Holy Monday.
